How to use at home
Suck a small piece of the root, or take half a teaspoon of powder with honey for throat and cough; with milk for the stomach.
Typical safe range: 1-3 g powder daily, in courses
Precautions: Raises blood pressure and lowers potassium with prolonged/heavy use — hypertensives, cardiac and kidney patients keep courses short. Avoid in pregnancy. Always inform your physician about herbs you take alongside prescribed medicines, and never stop prescriptions on your own.
