Why it happens (Nidana)
Late screens and stimulation, caffeine after noon, irregular bedtime, worry and overwork, heavy late dinner, daytime sleep, night-shift patterns.
Mind & Sleep
Anidra (sleeplessness) is usually Vata (mind won't stop) or Pitta (waking 2-4 am, hot and irritable). Ayurveda restores sleep with warm milk and nutmeg, foot massage with oil, a strict digital sunset, early light dinner and Shirodhara-style calming of the head.
Late screens and stimulation, caffeine after noon, irregular bedtime, worry and overwork, heavy late dinner, daytime sleep, night-shift patterns.
Difficulty falling asleep, frequent waking, early waking unable to return to sleep, unrefreshing sleep, daytime fatigue and irritability.
Tagara (Indian valerian), Jatamansi, Ashwagandha, Brahmi, Jaiphal (nutmeg — a pinch only), Sarpagandha strictly under practitioner supervision.
Classical medicines beyond kitchen herbs should be taken under a registered Ayurvedic practitioner, especially with existing medication, in pregnancy, or for children.
